Recovery from Disaster

The theme, “recovery from disaster,” reflects New Zealand’s experience recovering from the 2011 Christchurch earthquake.

Working Week 2016 is an exciting opportunity for members of the survey profession to network with their International peers, hear the latest developments in surveying, and learn about the important contribution surveying and spatial information has made to Christchurch’s recovery and rebuild.

WELCOME

Jeff Needham, NZIS President

Haere mai. Welcome!
On behalf of the NZIS I am pleased to extend this invitation for the 2016 FIG Working Week in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We offer all members of the International Federation of Surveyors this unique opportunity to visit Christchurch, a once beautiful city devastated by a traumatic series of earthquakes.

THE THEME

Shortly after 4.30 in the morning of Saturday, 4th September 2010, an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 on the Richter scale shocked the population of the province of Canterbury into wakefulness. Cantabrians were yet to learn that this was but a taste of worse to come. The call for paper is out!

CALL FOR PAPERS

The FIG 2016 Call for Paper has opened. This Call for Papers is announced both for peer review papers and non-peer review papers.

We invite you to submit abstract and full paper for peer review paper by 1 October 2015 and abstract for non-peer-review paper by 15 November 2015.

How to register:

The registration will open October 2015. Please check at http://www.fig.net/fig2016/registration.htm
